Polarity therapy (PT) is a holistic therapeutic system that combines traditional Oriental knowledge and Western medicine. It was created by Dr Stone who decided to move away from symptom-based medicine and conduct research into new therapeutic methods and forms of care. His research in China and India caused him to discover the concept of energy, which he considered to be the missing part in conventional therapies.
After years of study he developed a therapeutic system that views disease as a process rather than a syndrome. Polarity therapy covers four interrelated aspects: manual manipulation, polarity yoga, balancing diets and an attitude of healthy living habits.
During the first PT session the therapist conducts a thorough anamnesis to determine your energy status and find any blockages there may be. This is followed by the therapeutic contact session: touching different areas of the body with greater or lesser intensity but never painful. The aim is to re-establish the free flow of energy. Patients are so relaxed during the session that sometimes they even fall asleep. In addition to bodily contact, the therapist may teach patients some polarity yoga exercises and some touching they can perform at home between sessions.
Polarity therapy views all diseases, both physical and mental, as being accompanied with blockages of the life force and distortions of energy models.
Polarity therapy treats the person as a whole. Since all diseases are viewed as arising from energy imbalances it is highly recommendable for preventing and treating any acute or chronic pathology. Not to mention how effective this therapy can be in self-awareness and personal development.
Polarity therapy re-establishes free energy flow and that has benefits at all levels (physical, mental and spiritual). Although you may notice these even after the first session, they tend to become more noticeable as the number of sessions you receive increases as energy blocks are released and your feeling of well-being in yourself and your environment increases.
People often feel tired after each therapy session because although the therapeutic touches are very subtle they cause profound changes to energy patterns. It is therefore important and recommendable to slow the normal pace of your life so your body can focus on taking all the information received on board.
Polarity therapy is basically risk-free. It is a good idea to drink plenty of liquids before each session so your body can get rid of the toxins released. It is also important to listen to what your body is telling you: sleep if you are sleepy or spend time by yourself…
Some patients may find that acute processes such as temperatures develop. These tend to last only a short time and go away by themselves. These processes appear because your body is getting rid of toxins and are of no great importance.
